New Collections

Posted by

Our next big announcement comes just days after unveiling our magnificent new office, and happens to be closely linked the our flagship store!

You’ll have seen all our posts containing references to new furniture and lighting pieces but we can finally lift the cloak of mystery to reveal what we’ve been working on for the last 12 months.

We are very proud to reveal that, early next year, we will be launching our two new collections in the UK, at our 1 Sydney Place showroom!

The Maritime Collection is deeply masculine, reflecting the sturdiness and robustness of Italian merchant ships, with marquetry and embellishments of nautical images. Made of dark-stained solid wood, Ebony Macassar with white bone inlay, suede and leather-lined shelves, the collection features gun-metal and bronze ironmongery.

The Verandah Collection features upholstery casing in solid wood, upholstered in parchment, leather or fabric, with feet of cast bronze and hints of ebonised wood that enhance the spirit of colonial plantations. The coffee table, side table, cocktail trolley and console all feature a golden bamboo frame, with either eglomise glass, bevelled glass or marble. The lighting features a stunning lantern that echoes the bamboo motif, with both a floor lamp and a table lamp case from solid brass in a pineapple motif, again drawing on the tropical Verandah legend.

Both collections have been designed to compliment each other perfectly, and as such were combined in our window design in Janet Yonaty’s showroom for LCDQ’s 2017 Legends Festival in Los Angeles.

To celebrate these collections, we’ve created a dedicated Oro Bianco Home website where you can find lots more imagery and information. You can also follow the new Oro Bianco Home Instagram page for stunning shots of our pieces!

2017 LCDQ Legends Festival in Los Angeles

Posted by

We’ve just returned from our very first ‘Legends’ festival within the La Cienega Design Quarter of Los Angeles, where we used the event to launch our new furniture and lighting collections to the thousands of interior designs who flock to the West Hollywood boulevard every year.

Our collections were displayed across the two ground floor windows of Janet Yonaty’s Melrose Avenue showroom; one created by the Oro Bianco Interior Design team, and the other created by multi-talented West Coast designer Kimberly Colletti, with additional pieces spilling over from the window space and taking pride of place within the showroom itself.

Having landed at LAX on Friday evening, the festival, as far as we were concerned, started on Saturday morning when we wait straight to the showroom to survey the empty window spaces, check out the fantastic wall-coverings, and double-check measurements and electrical socket locations. Next, our logistics company AirSea Packing arrived with the familiar-looking crates containing the pieces.

Once the furniture was unloaded, we had the strenuous task of getting the immensely heavy pieces up the stairs and into position. The distinct lack of pictures of this stage being proof that it was all hands on deck!

With the main pieces in place, all that was left was the comparatively simply task of positioning the smaller items and accessories, plug in the lighting, and make the most of our time in Los Angeles before the LCDQ Gala and Janet Yonaty’s ‘Trunk Show’.

The first of the two events – the LCDQ opening night Gala – took place at Fig & Olive’s flagship location on Melrose Place, and allowed us to mingle with the other top designers showing at the festival over summery cocktails and prosecco.

Janet Yonaty’s Trunk Show took place the next day, and saw a steady flow of renowned editors, designers and bloggers coming through the showroom and circulating around the window displays. Inside, they were greeted with champagne, magnificent chocolates (made to resemble our OB logo, and the macassar ebony wood-grain of the pieces), and the photographers from Lux Deco Magazine.

By the end of the event we were absolutely thrilled and exhausted in equal measure! The feedback to the pieces was universally positive, with some designers already making inquiries into the ordering process.

New Flagship Store!

Posted by

We are delighted to announce the next major chapter for Oro Bianco – we are opening our flagship store at 1 Sydney Place in South Kensington, London!

This fantastic building will feature a ground-level retail space, as well as provide a home for our growing office. We’ll be following in the footsteps of many other prestigious luxury brands in the same area and we couldn’t be more excited to see what happens in this new phase of our development.

Having signed the lease, we are initiating a total renovation of the property.

Formerly a bank, the building was completely gutted after the previous tenants left (however the vaults in the basement remain!) – this provides a perfect blank canvas for us to create a luxurious environment in which we can expand our team and put our magnificent designs on show for the public.

We’ve got our work cut out as you can see from the photos, but we can’t wait to move in to the amazing space early next year.
